Disposable Gloves FAQs

How do you Dispose of Disposable Gloves?
None of the Vinyl, Latex, Nitrile, Synthetic, Vynite gloves are designed to be reusable and we would advise not to do so. Generally, they are not recycled in local authorities because the recycling process is quite complicated, however, there are online companies that can recycle the gloves. As they are used for medical practices, it’s not advised that gloves used for these purposes are recycled as they should be disposed of after use.

Are Any of the Gloves Reusable or Washable?
No, disposable gloves are single use only. Washing or reusing them can compromise their integrity, leading to micro-tears and increasing the risk of contamination or breakage.

What Does AQL Mean?
The Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is an internationally recognised quality standard designed to assess the statistical quality control of products. The lower the number, the lower the chance of defects. So, AQL 1.5 means that there is a 1.5% chance of a defect in the batch.

How Should I Store Them?
Proper storage is necessary to maximise their shelf life; your disposable gloves should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and ozone-generating equipment.

Do Gloves Replace the Need for Handwashing?
No, they are not a substitute for proper hand hygiene. You should wash your hands before putting on the gloves and after taking them off.

What is the EN Standard?
If the gloves have an EN rating, it means they have been tested to a set standard - European standards ensure products adhere to a certain quality. The main EN ratings for gloves are EN455 and EN374; therefore, the gloves are registered as a Class 1 Medical Device. For more information, please visit our Standards and Markings Guide
